Effects Of Low Blood Pressure!
The effect of low blood pressure on the body is equally bad if not worse than that due to high blood pressure. Many people think that low blood pressure is not caused easily. But there are a number of reasons why this is caused. Low blood pressure is also called hypotension which is the opposite of the hypertension. Normal blood pressure as is said has a systolic of 90 to 120 and diastolic pressure of 60 to 80 mm of mercury. For some people even when they have a blood pressure of 90/50 they might quite be normal. These people might be having a normal blood pressure which might be just over these values.
Whereas there are people who even at 100/70 might be displaying symptoms of low blood pressure! These people might have a normal blood pressure of 120/90 which is really on the edge of the normal pressure limits. There is no with the former case but the later would have problems the moment he shows symptoms of low blood pressure. It is also common to find even people of lower age groups displaying such symptoms. But low blood pressure is common with people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol. They have been found to be the major contributors of low blood pressure.
What are the external symptoms that one might notice when a low blood pressure strikes? The most common external symptom of low blood pressure is the dizziness and fainting. If a person who is afflicted by low blood pressure stands up there is a possibility that he might even faint and fall down. This happens because the blood does not flow to the head because of a weak heart that is not able to pump blood creating the required blood pressure. The person should not try to stand up but instead lie down until help arrives. Apart from this external symptom, there is really no other symptom that shows up on a person afflicted. However, if the low blood pressure develops or continues to exist then the person might have multiple problems propping up.
The patient's kidney might fail because of lack of flow of adequate blood. This would also bring down the entire urinary system. This is the major affliction that one could end up with when low blood pressure strikes him. This will initially result in high urea content in the blood since the urinary system is not removing it. This is another symptom that could be used clinically to diagnose the problem. There is also the possibility of the person suffering a heart attack. This could happen when the heart is not able to pump enough blood and more is expected out of it. These two together could bring down the heart completely. There is also the possibility of shock occurring which could bring down almost all the major organs like brain, heart, kidney, lung and lever. A life threatening condition!
