Number one, it says that you are having your heart rate under control; which means that you are not taxing your heart too much and there are no issues with your heart. This is pretty common if you are less than 40 years of age. But if you are over 40 and you continue maintaining a normal blood pressure you will have to look at ways and means to maintain the same. It is a good sign really. Some of the factors you need to consider are what is the meaning of the blood pressure that is expressed? They normally say something like 110/70. This indicates that you are having a systolic blood pressure of 110 and the diastolic blood pressure of 70. Of course all these are within the limits and there are no issues on that count. Let us just try to understand what these really stand for.
Systolic is the pressure of the blood measured when the heart is contracting. In order to stand how this works, you need to understand how the heart works. You know that the heart repeatedly contracts and relaxes. When it contracts, it pushes the blood out through the arteries to the rest of the body. This would release the pressure that is needed for the blood to move about the entire body. The real work is done by the pressure that is built during the contraction period of the heart. Your normal blood pressure would be enough to take care of the normal blood flow in your property. But should something go wrong and the blood flow is not happening, then the heart has to pump stronger. This would rise the blood pressure and your normal blood pressure is no more normal! Your systolic pressure there fore is the maximum pressure that your heart exerts on the arteries when it is flowing. The diastolic pressure is the one that your heart exerts when it relaxes. This can be measured when the heart beat is complete and is relaxing. Your normal blood pressure is normal only when both the pressures are normal.
